Patrick Assi, MD

Dr. Patrick Assi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he serves as Director of the Division of Facial Aesthetic Surgery. He is a board-certified plastic surgeon whose clinical interests include facial aesthetic surgery, rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, and reconstructive surgery. He also serves as Director of Clinical Research and Director of the Research Fellowship.

In addition to his primary clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Assi leads the Migraine Surgery Practice at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Assi's clinical interests include primary and revision rhinoplasty, structural and preservation rhinoplasty, facelift and neck lift surgery, and eyelid and brow surgery. His approach emphasizes individualized surgical planning, technical precision, and natural-looking results.

Dr. Assi has authored more than 65 scientific publications spanning facial aesthetic surgery, rhinoplasty, reconstructive surgery, peripheral nerve regeneration, headache surgery, and clinical outcomes. His work includes “Precision” Hybrid Rhinoplasty: Balancing Tradition and Innovation, published in Annals of Plastic Surgery in 2025. His academic interests include surgical innovation, outcomes assessment, and evidence-based approaches to improving patient care. Dr. Assi has received research funding, including a National Endowment for Plastic Surgery Grant supporting research on peripheral nerve regeneration. He is committed to advancing facial aesthetic surgery through clinical research, surgical education, and the development of techniques that improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Assi is a member of The Aesthetic Society, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. His honors include the Bruce Shack Leadership Award, the Best Resident Consultant Award from Vanderbilt's Department of Plastic Surgery, and the Excellence in Patient Experience Award.

Dr. Assi completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Balamand in Lebanon. He subsequently completed general surgery training at MedStar Health in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by plastic surgery integrated residency and an enfolded fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
